Artworks > Cross Sections

This piece represents a real conundrum: On the one hand, we have the seriousness of the cross as a religious symbol and all it represents. Its meaning is huge, deep, and vast in the mind of man. Opposite of this we have a wacky application of the cross- the cross is wrapped in rubber- black rubber, and there are these funny little heads in various states of motion while being attached to the cross. It may very well be this conundrum that causes discomfort in the average spectator. Some people will believe that the artist is being sacrilegious. Others will feel that he is being daring- maybe not in an insulting way, but perhaps more in a humorous way. After all, it was God who invented humor!
